The Police and U2's Lyrics Are Most Misunderstood Ever

Songs by The Police and U2 contain some of the most misunderstood lyrics of all clock time, according to a new survey.


The Police topped the poll with a line from 'When The World Is Running Down' -� "you realize the best of what's still around" � which is frequently misheard as "you make the best homemade stew around".


At number deuce was the line "It's alright, it's okay, you may look the early way" from the Bee Gees hit 'Stayin' Alive' - which is heard as "it's alright, it's okay, you make beloved the other way".


Hearing assistance provider Amplifon polled 2000 people in the survey.


Responding to the results, the company's manager Enrico Vacca said: "Some people go for years singing the wrong lyrics to their favourite songs.


"We heard some brilliant misquotes during our research that had us in stitches."


Other acts of the Apostles who had lyrics which featured in the top-10 included The Beatles, Queen and Oasis.
